Are you a brand, product or company looking to book a photo studio for your next shoot? Here’s a list of things you should consider before booking a photo studio, to make sure it’s fit for purpose.
1. How is the studio equipped?
Do you need an industrial feel with a white wall and concrete floors? A cyclorama for shooting eCommerce? Kitchens for food photography?
2. Natural light / light options
If you are hoping to shoot with natural light, ensure your studio has large windows, preferably north facing. If you’re photographer or videographer prefers to shoot with controlled light, make sure you’re able to block ambient light out of the space. At Studio Maybe we have large North-facing windows with block out blinds to use for controlled light shoots. We also have large sheers to create diffused light and to use as a backdrop.
3. Equipment available
Does the studio supply C Stands, Camera tripods, polyboards etc? It’s best to ask the studio in advance so you can bring as little equipment as needed with you.
4. Parking
Many studios don’t have great access to parking, so this is definitely something you want to confirm before going ahead with your booking. Ensure parking is close to the studio access, is ideally free and all day.
5. Easy access
If you need to bring large equipment, products. It’s a great idea to find a studio that has roller door, drive up access. That means you can unload and set up the shoot with ease.
6. Size of space
Depending on what you’re shooting, how many people are coming to the shoot day, how much product you need to have on site will determine the size of the studio you need to hire. Studio Maybe has 250m2 of useable space, so is suitable for medium-large teams.
